This trial is enrolling 13 individuals with chronic cervical spinal cord injuries to test the safety and effect of the Networked Neuroprosthesis Device - Upper Extremity (NNP-UE) on hand and reaching functions. The NNP-UE is a device that applies electrical stimulation through implanted electrodes to nerves in the arm and hand and senses voluntary motion and muscle activity to help the contraction of weakened or paralyzed muscles. If included, participants will undergo surgery for implantation of the device and perform training with the device. Final testing of hand function (e.g., grasping) will be performed 1 year after implantation of the device.
