This trial is enrolling individuals with chronic spinal cord injuries to test the effect combining epidural spinal cord stimulation (scES) with respiratory training. scES is a technique for stimulating the spinal cord via implanted electrode placed next to the spinal cord to modify spinal cord function. If included, participants will perform either: 1) respiratory training during scES; 2) respiratory training alone; or 3) scES alone during 45-minute session for 16 weeks. Researchers want to see if the combination strategy of stimulation and training improves respiratory and/or motor function.
