This is a clinical trial enrolling individuals with chronic cervical spinal cord injuries to test the effect of a portable device that electrically stimulates muscles in the arm and hand, a Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) device, to improve grip and grasp. The device is a wearable sleeve that is controlled by the user and is intended to be used in the home setting. The FES stimuli will target specific muscles to improve natural grasp function. Participants will be trained to use the FES system to target functional hand movements and activities they identify as important. The research team will measure the FES system strengths, weaknesses and effectiveness using interviews and standardized assessments. If included, participants will receive a portable device to be used at home. Final testing will be performed after 10 weeks.
