This trial is recruiting individuals with recent cervical (neck area) spinal cord injuries to test the effect of a hand therapy device that uses video game technology (Hummingbird platform) to train isolated finger control in order to improve hand and digit recovery. Participants will undergo either 10 one-hour sessions of training with the Hummingbird device in addition to standard of care (3 hours, 5 days a week); or 2) standard of care therapy only. Final testing will be performed 3 months after the intervention.

The 2:1 randomization scheme is designed so that two participants will be assigned to the Hummingbird device treatment group for every one participant assigned to the standard of care only group.
