This study is recruiting individuals with spinal cord injuries to evaluate the safety and effect of transplanting umbilical cord-derived stem cells (UC-MSC) for treatment of different phases of spinal cord injury: sub-acute (two week to two months); early chronic (two months to 12 months), and late chronic (after 12 months). The purpose is to measure any benefit from UC-MSC transplantation, and to find out the best time for treatment. In the first part of the study, investigators will treat individuals with early stage chronic injuries with UC-MSC transplantation or placebo.
